ABOUT RAVENSFILM PRODUCTIONS

Nicholas J. MichalakI, Nick Michalak, created RavensFilm Productions in Spring of 2004 with ambitions to lay out a path of filmmaking aspirations, but with many influences and avenues to explore along the way.

RavensFilm Productions has been aided by an array of highly talented actors and filmmakers across Chicagoland over the years.  This includes cinematographer and steadicam operator Eric Woltman, whom I have shot many projects with.  Also, since 2008, I have had a standing collaboration with Chicago metal band HEMI which includes numerous music videos, the designing and maintaing of their official website, assembling the art layouts for their albums, and shooting nearly all of their live shows since 2011.

In 2014, I began an on-going collaboration with Wisconsin-based Josh Hadley of 12:01 Beyond Productions where we produced a semi-regular video magazine of unique films, music videos, and other fascinating, entertaining pieces of interest.  We also began working with Xcess Entertainment in producing featurettes for their Blu-Ray releases of cult films.  The first of which was released in 2018 for The Rabid (aka Beast With A Gun, Mad Dog Killer).

In 2019, a friendship came into being with Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter AMES to where social media banners were designed to promote her indie pop EP titled My Name is AMES, as well as helping to manage her Official Artist YouTube Channel and updating her Wikipedia page.

Furthermore, Chicago & Los Angeles SAG actor Chris Agos has entrusted RavensFilm Productions with his theatrical, on-camera, and commercial reels since 2011. Chris has appeared in numerous cable, SVOD, and network primetime dramas including Chicago PD, Boss,House of Cards, and the Apple TV+ series For All Mankind. He is also a self-published author with multiple editions of Acting in Chicago available. Reels for several other actors have been produced to highly satisfying results as well.

Since 2012, RavensFilm Productions has released multiple projects on Amazon Prime Video and home media formats including Special Edition DVD releases of short film Dead of Night, the HEMI concert video of The Chosen Ones: Live in the Fire in 2014, and the triumphant 2019 release of its first feature film The Fixer. The year of 2013 brought about the addition of Forever Cinematic Movie Reviews to the Official RFP YouTube Channel, which evolved from the 200+ written reviews on the Forever Cinematic WordPress blog. Over three years later, my friends Steve Frazier and Trent Zuberi joined me to begin an on-going series of audio commentary tracks for popular films under the Forever Cinematic banner. It has helped grow the RavensFilm brand by earning thousands of new subscribers and followers to the entertaining and analytical exploration of films of various genres.

Brand new projects continue to develop for RavensFilm Productions in filmmaking, music videos, and YouTube video content.
