• A musical collaboration is underway between filmmaker Nicholas Michalak
and musician Ryan Kramar to create an original song for the
film. This song, titled "Edge Of Night," would be the final piece of music needed
to complete the film, and allow it to be released after so many years. This
will replace the temp track of Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" during the
final montage sequence. Ryan is an amazing musician both as the lead guitarist
for the metal band HEMI, and as the frontman for the alternative rock band PJ's
My Cousin Too. Lyrics have been written by Michalak, and the music and vocal
end are being developed by Kramar. Stay posted as this develops further.

• A brand new retro style poster has premiered online as well as a second
soundtrack trailer. Said trailer features numerous pieces of music and songs
from the film, giving each musician a chance to impress upon you their style
and talent. Furthermore, a NEW preview scene has debuted. It is my favorite
dialogue scene of the entire film featuring Nick Doetsch and Lucy Arenberg
as the cold and former couple Vic Simmons and Caroline Burnett clashing over
new, grim developments in the life of Katie Bishop. All three promotional materials
are viewable in their respective areas of the website.
The process is currently on to find the right place and price to do a short
run DVD duplication for the film, due for release this Spring. HEMI frontman
Trent Zuberi has an idea of how to raise the money necessary to get these
made. The reason why RavensFilm isn't going through Create Space as it
did for the Dead Of Night DVD release is because of the limitations of
what they offer. I want to place a small array of special features on this
disc, but with the film being 100 minutes long, that is not possible with
a single DVD-5 (which is all Create Space offers). All other distribution
websites require you to produce and provide them with the product, and
they just act as a conduit for retail sales online. So, it's turning out
to be a pricey venture, but there's at least two months before crucial
decisions need to be made.
Regardless of the DVD release, THE FIXER will be released via Film
Rogue's new indie film digital download service. For merely a few
dollars, you'll be able to download the complete film in DVD quality
resolution. Apocalypse Cow is working on the film's final piece of score,
and this Spring, Along The Parallel plans to record their song "Vestigial" as a single, which will be
the final track needed to complete the film
