| Prologue to Vengeance.
The number one gun in the Ennis Jackson syndicate, Vance
Derricks. joins lower level hitman David Alec Swann to seal a fresh and
lucrative deal with Richard Van Owens - an eccentric and outlandish king
of the streets. Anything you might need - guns, drugs, prostitution
- he can provide it for you. But this was to be hitman Simon Kreese's
gig, a golden opportunity to improve his standing with Jackson, but has
pawned the task onto Derricks to engage in sordid, illicit affairs in the
cover of night. Though, the deal with Van Owens quickly proves to
be anything but ordinary due to his off-beat personality, overblown ego,
and greedy attitude. But how things turn out will not be as explosive
as what events will be spawned from it all in Vengeance. |

• With Vengeance put on indefinite hold until
all the right resources, crew, and locations can really be assembled, I
decided these characters were too good not to be utilized sooner than later.
Thus, the idea for this prologue came about. The "Van Owens job"
had been mentioned in Vengeance from the start, but never elaborated
on. It becomes a pivitol event that works to Vance Derricks' advantage,
but that's all I'll say. I got the idea for this on Wednesday, March
26th while watching Collateral, and now, four nights later, 15 pages
are complete. Will not run past 20 'cause it's almost complete.
It's a very tight story, meant as a teaser for Vengeance, and does
not spoil any of the plot twists of that feature length project.
If The Van Owens Job can gain some awareness and exposure to help
get Vengeance made, then all the better. Along with Kill
Or Be Killed, this creates a trilogy, and I'm so elated that it will
create a full story arc for my favorite character of the bunch, David Alec
Swann. He was originally only mentioned in Vengeance, and
later, developed and re-developed throughout multiple re-writes of Kill
Or Be Killed. In any case, I hope to shoot this in May / June
of this year. Just need to contact some people regarding locations
as well as some original cast members for a yay or nay. |
